Holiday Greetings!

Here are some pictures of a cute gingerbread house I made. I think it is absolutely adorable and it will last forever as it's non-edible but instead is felt!

For structure, I began by building it with popsicle sticks and hot glue, creating a boxed frame. Then, I folded a piece of cardboard to form the roof and added poster board to the front and back facades.
The snow on the roof is white fleece and beads decorate the house and snow-covered yard as candy! As for the peppermint candies, I used colored buttons and braided white yarn through each hole. The candy canes are made from twisted pipe cleaners and yarn or ribbon. Also, pom poms make great bushes! Add little puffs of polyester filling for snow effect and voila! Gingerbread house!

Coconut and Cranberry Cookies Galore!!!!

The first time I tried baking cranberry cookies, they came out like this. They were awesomely delicious, but were oddly shaped. (Hey, I just followed the directions!! I swear!) Everyone in my family and my brother’s co-workers loved them so much that I ended up making another batch not too long later. UNFORTUNATELY, those turned out burnt as I had overestimated the time in which they should be baked…. (Hey, I followed the directions again, but I guess the oven refused to cooperate with me that night). Because of my embarrassment, though, you all will have to go with no photos for that messed-up batch. x.x Finally, I decided to make my third attempt at the lovely and tasty “Coconut and Cranberry Cookies” (recipe by Linda Doeser, “1 dough, 100 cookies”). This is the eye candy (for you, actual for me, HAHA). They are SO delicious, I am not even kidding. Not that I am complimenting myself or anything, but that the author of the cookie book is a genius. Trust me; I couldn’t do any of this without help or instructions. Heh heh.

Coconut + cranberries + cookies = LOVE.

How long has it been???

Hello, everyone! It's been a while! I'm back to hopefully continue my blogging heartily. Recently I have been playing lots of video games and having lots of fun with my family, so I haven't been as attentive as I would like. Just a few days ago, I added some cute stuff to my cute stuff collection, and I had it in my silly head to make a "comic strip" entry. So here it is! I hope you enjoy!

The two super cute characters in the comic are the Sugarbunnies twins! Shirousa and Kurousa!!! (Shirousa is the white bunny with the pink bow and Kurousa is the brown bunny.) They specialize in making pateries: Shirousa in cakes and Kurousa in chocolates and other baked goods. Aren't they cute! They come from Bunniesfield, where there are no humans.

The comic tells the true story of how they came to live with me! Shirousa was purchased before Kurousa, who had a missing piece to his toy package. I had to bargain with the manager of the store they came from to get a discount for the incomplete package. Fortunately, I really love both Kirousa and Shirousa, so I don't care if the missing cookie cutter was missing!!!

All the sweets seen in the photo/comic are made by hand by my sisters and I from scratch. We had borrowed several candy and cupcake books from our local library, as well as having had searched for recipes online. My two younger sisters baked and decorated the cute buttercream cupcakes, which were for Valentine's Day. Then one of them and I spent the whole night of the next night making chocolates and toffee.

The cupcakes are chocolate and vanilla, decorated with buttercream frosting in white and pink vanilla, and chocolate. The dark chocolates with white icing and the almond-covered truffles are all filled with semi-sweet chocolate. However, the almond-covered truffles are the only ones filled with chopped candied-cherries. The crushed vanilla cream cookie (cookies'n'creme) truffles are covered with either a white chocolate shell and dark chocolate icing and or thick milk chocolate skin. Mmmmmmmmm!!!! The toffee in the jar are made with caramel, white and milk chocolate chips, and chopped, roasted almonds. Also, the Sugarbunnies cookies are vanilla and chocolate flavored!!! Too bad they were eventually mildly burnt due to our shortage of parchment paper (we had to spray pam on foil!!!).

Each batch of chocolate made at least 20 pieces, so we still have lots of chocolates left over, sitting in the fridge! >.< Hehe.
